Shontelle全名Shontelle Layne，来自拉丁美洲加勒比海地区的岛国巴巴多斯。出道于2005年，那时她和巴巴多斯另一位艺人Natahlee合作的单曲"Colours"在加勒比海地区十分流行，此外在2006年她还为歌手Alison Hinds写了首热门单曲"Roll It Gal"。2006年，Shontelle和Rihanna，J-status合作歌曲"Roll it"。
